FASTEN Project - Newsletter #2 - November 2021

We are pleased to provide you the latest updates regarding FASTEN innovative dependency management solution. As the project team is achieving key technical milestone in the 2021 Q4 and approaching the end of project, we are getting more and more interest from the community and presenting FASTEN in many events. Please see the detailed list below.

 

EclipseCon Europe, October 25-27, 2021, online


FASTEN was presented by Antoine Mottier OW2 CTO at EclipseCon Europe. Taking dependency management to the next level with call graphs! Abstract: Software dependencies can be viewed as graph that only get bigger as software evolved. This lead to multiple challenging situations related to security, quality, licensing and more. Today tools are great but more accurate tools such as FASTEN are under development. Join me to learn how the current dependency management tool are evolving to cope with the growing complexity of software development. More details.

 

SFScon, November 12-13, 2021, Bolzano and Online


FASTEN will be presented at SFScon 2021 on Friday November 12 from 11:40 to 12:00 in the OW2 track. SFScon is the South Tyrol Free Software Conference, and one of Europe’s most established annual conferences on Free Software. Interested in joining? Register now.

 

 

Open Source Experience, November 9-10, 2021,  Paris

FASTEN will be introduced on the OW2 booth (#C16) at Open Source Experience on November 9 and 10, in Paris Palais des Congrés. Demonstration of the current platform and available tools will be given on-demand. More information.

 

 

FOSDEM, February 5-6, 2022, Online

FOSDEM 2022 will take place online this year again and we will apply again to organize a Devroom. We are collaborating with last year's organizers of the SCA Devroom to set up a new merger Devroom : "Software Composition and Dependency Management". The Call for Presentations will be available soon. Check the FASTEN website.

FASTEN Beta-Testing Available!

Want to try the Java call graph generated by FASTEN? This first FASTEN milestone is available for beta-testing on ReachOut. Another campaign will be launched later to test the whole project.
